She is more likely to want to touch my needle and thread when I'm handsewing, or "hold down" my sewing scissors, so I usually have to drive her out of the room where I'm working after a while. She also likes to fray the edges of my paper sewing patterns. :-)Cathy Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04580681386443534011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-88627057651329479432012-02-02T17:33:51.161-05:002012-02-02T17:33:51.161-05:00My lovely Chowder will "hold down" my fa...My lovely Chowder will "hold down" my fabric while I try to cut it. This usually comes in the form of him flopping down and then rolling back and forth. he is also very talented in finding a way inside my dress form and then attacking my ankles while I work on costuming.MissKittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17506156236014608059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-46973834784378818312012-01-28T02:16:57.739-05:002012-01-28T02:16:57.739-05:00Hi, Ken! Except I don't think she thinks of us as "monkeys"; I think she thinks of us as weirdly shaped cats, with strange wet tongues and a shortage of claws and fur. :-)Cathy Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04580681386443534011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-86905110767151450492012-01-28T02:15:35.871-05:002012-01-28T02:15:35.871-05:00Pearl: Thanks for your compliments about, and goo...Pearl: Thanks for your compliments about, and good wishes for, Sugar. She would love to purr at you personally (but then she loves to purr at everyone).

Handsewing with a kitten will probably be chaotic. We got Sugar when she was nearly a year old, which was long before I took up hand sewing, so I didn't have the problem. My best guess is that you'll need to work when Zac is asleep. Good luck in fitting this in with your schedule!Cathy Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04580681386443534011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-35925996317652668452012-01-27T17:38:23.056-05:002012-01-27T17:38:23.056-05:00Awwwwww! Sugar is a very sweet looking cat.

I'm still figuring out how to hand-sew with a cat, but the issue isn't as much sleeping on fabric, but trying to steal cotton spools (he picks them up in his mouth and runs off) and hanging off apron dress straps.

(Glad to hear the ultrasound turned out alright.)Pearlhttp://www.medieval-baltic.usnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-28663274898953098542012-01-27T03:37:54.305-05:002012-01-27T03:37:54.305-05:00Monkey! However, if you pet her while she's asleep in this position, she seldom objects, just licks the petting hand and begins to purr. :-)

Maybe I'll have a chance to show you all Sugar's sweet face in a future post.Cathy Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04580681386443534011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2670213486548123819.post-23647856919115647642012-01-26T23:39:29.671-05:002012-01-26T23:39:29.671-05:00I seriously never get tired of seeing pictures of ...I seriously never get tired of seeing pictures of cats impeding the sewing process. They crack me up every time, and make me wish that I had a cat to impede my own sewing! Your cat sleeping is very endearing, with its face completely hidden by paws.
