Since it's January 1, 2010, I clearly won't be completing any additional projects in 2009. But it's a good time to look at what I did finish, and think about projects to add to my list for this year.
These are the items I finished in 2009. Possibly for the first time ever for me, all the work on
all of the completed items (except for the Viking sewing box) was done by hand.
- Apron dress with front cloth
- linen savanion
- Manazan shirt
- Viking sewing box
- wool Byzantine mantion
- wool Hedeby apron dress
The items from 2009 that I still intend to work on appear at the sidebar. I've added the Deshahsheh tunic to the list. Other than that, and learning how to spin (now that I finally own a spindle!) and to do sprang (I still need to improvise a frame, or buy one), I can't think of anything to add to the list right now. I'm sure that will change, though--it always does.
Happy New Year and good luck with your spinning! I am now learning to spin too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Let me know how it goes. (I still have to sit down with my spindle and a video, now that I have some roving, but I may have time today and/or tomorrow.)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDelete(And when I get decent-speed internet, I have to share my Hedeby apron dress that you inspired me to make.)
Pearl: Sorry to hear that your Internet connection is problematic.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your Hedeby dress, though. (Since you had the benefit of reading about my mistakes, I'm sure yours will be much nicer than mine!)
Happy New Year (or Twelfth Night)! Looking forward to that 10th-century Lithuanian wool shawl, of course. :-)
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, the shawl. Someday, I have to get out my big needle and pliers and start installing fringe and metal rings.... :-)
