The Fitted Wrapped Apron Dress: Another Update

Late this week, bored by the lack of useful things I could do on the job front, I picked up the fitted wrapped apron dress project again.  This time, I'm making substantial progress; I have completed the gores, and am about a quarter of the way of inserting one of them into the main dress piece.  I might have it done and have pictures to show next week.

  1. Oh, I can't wait to see how it turns out! I like the Viking, but I'm curvy and want to be pretty (snerk), so the fitted versions really intrigue me.

    1. I'm curious to see how it turns out too! I promise as many (decent) pictures as I can get my husband to take once it's done.

    1. Hi, Marled, thanks for stopping by!

I've read Hilde Thunem's essay on the Kostrup dress, and I'd attempted my own recreation. I didn't know how small the pleats were at the time of my recreation so it's not very close to the original. My recreation can be found here (it's the one on the right).
